In late 2016 Optime Subsea merged with Telemark Technologies. With this merger, Optime Subsea was able to secure vital Telemark Technologies components and engineering knowledge. This was integrated into Optime’s vision, with system deliveries and a global focus. The priorities were now clear – Optime should become the preferred dedicated controls and intervention provider. Their first system, SCILS, was within 24 months designed, developed, qualified, marketed and ready for operation to continue the pursuit of this vision.
– Our technology is disrupting, which means that it differs from the established norms. Our technology is also universal, which means that it can be used by any customer on any operation. Although this technology is unique and reduces cost, we also have had to ensure that our solutions are beyond the quality from what is available in the market. This is where we have succeeded, Tor-Øystein Carlsen emphasizes.
Optime’s expertise is in looking at the problem to solve, reducing the complexity and then creating modular and standard solutions. This is in part achieved by adapting technology from other industries, as well as by using different working methods to achieve this objective.
– We always focus on the customer. In Optime we see the bigger picture, the overall cost, and the time and resource savings our solutions will provide. If it doesn’t tick off all our key drivers, we are not engaging in it, Trond Løkka explains.
